Our mechanics perform diagnostic tests to determine the cause of a mechanical problem. The diagnostic process has evolved over time from simple trial and error to the use of high-tech equipment such as computers.
Once an auto mechanic diagnoses the problem, his next step is to make the necessary repairs. Mechanics work in a garage filled with the tools and parts we have in our location to fix the problem.
In addition to repairing malfunctioning vehicles, auto mechanics perform routine vehicle maintenance to keep the vehicles running smoothly. Basic maintenance functions include changing oil, lubricating chassis and performing engine tune-ups. Other functions include rotating tires, refilling engine fluids and checking belts and hoses.
Auto mechanics perform vehicle safety inspections, as required by law. They check items such as brakes, tires, windshield wipers, lights and horns to ensure they are working properly and safely. They also perform a check of vehicle emissions systems as required to help limit the amount of pollutants created by the vehicle.
